Introducing our Recycle Cabin!

Recycled Cabin B&BNotice: The Recycle Cabin will be unavailable for rent from November-December due to hunting season.

You may have the unique experience of not only lodging in the beautiful canyons of Selah, Bamberger Ranch Preserve, but this structure is also entirely made of recycled materials.

The vision that developed over many years in the mind of J. David Bamberger finally came to fruition in the fall of 2003. Instead of throwing away old pieces of barn wood, particle board, light fixtures and doors, Mr. Bamberger saved these materials through the years with the idea of one day putting them all into one unique structure.

There are stories galore on and in the walls of our recycled cabin. The ceiling fan in the main room came from the old Bluebonnet Hotel in San Antonio when they installed air conditioning in 1953. Exterior light fixtures came from a variety of places: housing complexes and from Robert Ayre's personal home in San Antonio. Window panes were repaired, redesigned and fitted into old barn wood from the Texas hill country. The exterior pastel colored boards were salvaged from a housing development that was torn down to make way for the downtown freeway in San Antonio. Square nails individually hand-made before the turn of the century can still be seen in several of the wood panels around the cabin. And even our own old cattle trailers and horse corrals contributed wood to the front porch. The bathroom has more than 381 pieces of recycled wood alone! With the talent of two local craftsmen and the vision of the Bambergers, this cabin is truly "Barn Again!"

There is a nice fishing hole located behind the cabin further up into the canyon. Trail systems are a short walk through the entrance gate and down by the creek. Our trail system is rather linear in its' lay-out, trail maps are provided. During your stay, you are welcome to walk anywhere on the ranch, but we ask you to not drive beyond the paved roads. A ranch tour is not included in the price. Staff availability is limited but a tour can possibly be arranged for an additional fee. Please make these arrangements well in advance of your arrival.

COST: $200 per night for the first 4 people. $25 for each additional person (can sleep up to 10 people).
Linens, cooking facilities are available.
No breakfast included.
