Bamberger Ranch Facilities
The Center
When the Center was built in the early 1980's, Mr. Bamberger wanted to provide
a place that would serve visitors to the ranch as a place to meet and to learn
about environmental conservation. He was aware of the division between the
environmentalists and developers, and decided to name his new building "The
Center" because he wanted it to be a place that would serve to bring factions
together so that they could work together and come to a consensus. As Mr. B.
says, "It is in the center isle of Congress that the left and right come together
and find areas of agreement." This beautiful stone conference hall with two
dormitory style sleeping wings can sleep 48 people and conference 100. We have
a commercially equipped kitchen where our staff prepares meals for guests at
reasonable prices. This facility is available to groups that are dedicated
to or have an interest in conservation and the environment. You are asked to arrive as a group and leave as a group,
and keep the car traffic in and out to a minimum. You can hike around the ranch. There is central heat, large fireplaces, and ceiling fans, but no air-conditioning, TV, or telephone.
A ranch tour is not included in the price. Staff availability is limited but a tour can possibly be arranged for an additional fee. Please make these arrangements well in advance of your arrival.
